An Interview With Diana Mondonedo
When did you first become interested in Home Schooling?
I first became interested in Home Schooling while I was in college. Several of the children from the church I was attending were being Home Schooled. Hearing the parents talk of the joy and fulfillment they experienced by teaching their own children encouraged me to do this one day.
How long have you been Home Schooling?
Oh my! That’s too many years to count!! I can say it’s been well over three decades for sure that I have been involved in Home Schooling. I got my start when I was studying at USC. One mom with several children asked me if I was interested in teaching a couple of subjects to her children. Jumping at the chance to get my feet wet and gain some experience, I said yes! Little did I know, it was going to be Science and History. Ugh, my two worst subjects growing up. All I could do was laugh at God’s humor. To my surprise, I thoroughly loved it and was hooked!
What is your favorite part of Home Schooling?
It is such a thrill when the box of school books come for the new year. Opening each book, turning the crisp pages as I browse through the content of what the children will be learning gets me so excited! But my absolute favorite part of Home Schooling is the time I get to spend with my children. My heart overflows with joy seeing them learn and grow!!
Who is your inspirational BEAUTY?
My inspirations are definitely my two beautiful children! They are absolutely wonderful people with so much to give. Truly blessings from the Lord!! Their hard work and discipline to achieve their goals has brought them both much success. I may have been their teacher while they were growing up, but I feel as if I was the one taught by them.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?
Well. God willing, I’m not pushing up daisies in the next 5-10 years! Instead, I hope to still be growing old with my wonderful husband, living in our own cute yellow house ( single story of course!) with a red door and a big porch with glide rockers. Here we will treasure lots of memory moments with family and friends. Hopefully, the rooms will be filled with the laughter of many, many more grand babies to love and spoil!
