Inspirations on Foundations

Any good builder will tell you that a good foundation can make or break a structure. This is because it’s the foundation of a building that supports the weight of whatever is built on it. Therefore, if the foundation is not strong, the building will crack, shift, or, in severe cases, collapse! The same goes for the spiritual foundation in our life. If our spiritual foundation is not strong we are unable to handle the weight or pressures of life.

David writes in Psalm 11:3, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Notice that David says if foundations are “destroyed.” The enemy will always be after our foundation to try and make us feel unsteady or even cause cracks in our faith. That is why it is so important to always go back to the basics and look at what we are building upon.

Psalm 96:6 says, “Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.” This means that when we enter into His sanctuary, the sacred space of His presence, we not only discover who we are, but the beauty to be found in that. So often the enemy tries to attack this foundation, to make us think that we are not enough, that we are unloved, and that we are not beautiful in any way, shape, or form. This is why it is so important to stay tethered to God’s presence. When we make God our foundation our identity does not easily falter and we can truly express ourselves and become who God has made us to be.

One of our foundational elements here at Generation Next Ministries is the idea of B. E. A. U. T. Y. — Being Earnestly And Ultimately Totally You. Our identity, our foundation, is where God starts with us individuals and as communities.

This is why for the upcoming months we will be revisiting B. E. A. U. T. Y. and why the foundation of Being Earnestly And Ultimately Totally You is so vitally important.
