An Interview with Amber Bonasso
When did you first become interested in pursuing Performing Arts?
I first became interested in Performing Arts through movies. I loved watching movies when I was young because I loved the different worlds that I was given to experience. I initially wanted to be an editor because I have a slightly photographic memory and I could actually see the edits as they happened in films. My father, however, told me I was “too pretty” to be stuck in a dark room and said I should be an actor instead. :)
How long have you been involved in Performing Arts?
I have been involved in Performing Arts most of my life. When I was young I would create “productions” with my sisters and film them on our parent’s old 8mm camera. I can remember being on stage in large church productions when I was 7 years old.
What is your favorite part of Performing Arts?
Performance day! I love the day of performance and seeing everything come together and the production come to life in front of an audience. There is always something unexpected that happens and an element of the way that the audience receives that performance that is exhilarating.
Who is your inspirational BEAUTY?
My inspirational beauty is my Father, my sisters, and my Maker. The way that nature takes your breath away and inspires the soul is what I strive for in all my productions. My Father and my sisters, each in their own rights, have an uncanny ability to create an experience that both lifts and delights.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?
I am not sure where the next five years will bring me. But I hope that I will have traveled around the world and seen such things as the pyramids, Petra, where my family comes from in Italy, the northern lights in Iceland, the Greek and Roman ruins in Greece, Versailles in France, and many other places. I love to travel and I hope that in the years to come I will have seen all that I hope to see with my eyes and will then have settled into a home and family.
