An Interview With Candice
When did you first become interested in pursuing Writing?
I first became interested in pursuing writing when I was 12 years old. Ever since I can remember I would create stories while riding in cars or act them out with my friends. I soon began to realize I was doing the same stories over and over, tweaking things each time. One day I said to myself, “I should write this down!”
How long have you been involved in Writing?
I started writing when I was 12. When I was 16, however, is when I began to pursue it as a career. This is because I wrote and finished my first script when I was 16 and started writing more scripts while attending a specialized Arts High School.
What is your favorite part of Writing?
That’s a hard question! If I had to choose, I’d say my favorite part of Writing is “characters”. I don’t just mean people. The “world” and “settings” are just as much characters to me as the people. Perhaps this is my favorite because there is infinite possibilities when it comes to creating “characters”. However, once you make certain choices, you have to stay true to who this person/place is and what their anchoring attributes are. I suppose it reminds me of how amazing God is in how complex He created us!
Who is your inspirational BEAUTY? (male or female)?
My inspirational BEAUTY is my mother. When I think of Being Earnestly And Ultimately Totally You, she is the first person that comes to mind. I’ve had the privilege of seeing her up close in many seasons, both fruitful and trying. In each season, she has never stopped pursuing who God has called her to be, whether as a mother, wife, friend, or any of her other many life roles. God has asked a lot of her, as He does of all of us, and each time she has earnestly pursued who He has called her to be with faith and multitudes of grace.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5-10 years?
In the next 5-10 years I hope to be screenwriting in the entertainment industry, as well as a published author.
